Backed by Moduplay’s knowledge of public recreation, TUSCO brings practical, long-term thinking to modular pumptracks designed for bikes, scooters, skateboards and other wheels. Our tracks give councils, schools and designers a flexible way to create active recreation spaces that suit different sites, budgets and rider groups.

A Lifetime of Biking Passions

Our General Manager Scott’s Story

Mountain biking has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I grew up in Wollongong, just below the Mount Keira escarpment, where some of Australia’s most iconic downhill tracks became our playground. Countless afternoons after school and our entire school holidays were spent digging jumps, shaping berms, fixing trails and, of course, riding them.

Not every kid had organised riding parks back then. We built them ourselves.

One of the local favourites was the legendary Port Boys track—if you know, you know. Looking back now, it was pretty wild, but it taught us creativity, resilience, teamwork and a genuine love for riding.

When we weren’t on the mountain, we’d usually be hanging around Spearman Cycles (now Giant Wollongong). David Hansen, the owner at the time, was incredibly generous with his time and somehow managed to welcome a bunch of enthusiastic school kids into his shop day after day. Ryan and Jess—who now own Giant Wollongong—were always happy to help us choose the next upgrade before we headed straight back to the trails.

As I’ve grown older, I’ve realised not every Australian kid is as fortunate as I was.

Not everyone grows up across the road from world-class riding terrain. Many live in cities where there’s no bush to build tracks, while others live in regional communities without the hills needed for downhill riding. Yet every child deserves the chance to experience the confidence, freedom and excitement that riding brings.

Being able to lead TUSCO is genuinely a dream come true.

It combines my passion for designing great community spaces with a lifelong love of bikes and the outdoors. More importantly, it gives me the opportunity to help create the kinds of experiences that shaped my own childhood.

My hope is that every TUSCO project becomes the place where another lifelong passion begins.
